Governor Rick Scott has ordered U.S. and State of Florida flags be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings and grounds in Florida in honor of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

All flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Scalia’s burial.

“I am honored to direct our flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, Gov. Scott said in a statement. “He was a devoted public servant who faithfully upheld the rule of law. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Scalia died in his sleep during a trip to Texas. He was 79.
