A brighter afternoon is in store, compared to the overcast skies we saw on Easter Sunday.

As we move through the day, the sun will break through the clouds during the afternoon. Breezy north-northeast winds will continue to gust over 10 to 20 mph, especially along the coast.

Temperatures will climb to the mid- to upper 70s in most locations, with a few spots managing to reach the 80 degree mark. Winds should begin to relax and calm down in many locations as we move through the overnight hours.

Skies should be clear overnight as lows fall into the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.

It will be a nice night to see the Lyrid Meteors. The best bet to spot them is before the moon rises above the horizon at 2:08 a.m. But you should be able to catch a glimpse of 10 to 20 meteors per hour.

Ample sunshine is in store for Tuesday and Wednesday with high pressure in control. The warming trend will persist as highs bounce back to the low to mid-80s with winds in the 5 to 10 mile per hour range.

A weakening front will try to drop through Thursday, but rain chances are very limited at this point.

As highs climb into the upper 80s to wrap out the week and into the weekend, heating could help to deliver some limited late afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Overall, the upcoming weekend looks great for any outdoor plans.
