Someone robbed a 10-year-old at gunpoint earlier this month, and deputies and parents believe the suspect lives in the neighborhood.

It happened in the Pine Hills area of Orange County on Oct. 9, around five in the afternoon on Allegheny Court off of North Powers Drive. That's not far from Hiawassee Elementary.

Some people in the neighborhood said the man in the composite sketch released Wednesday looked familiar.

Luis Federick wants the suspect arrested. "Playing with guns and putting them in kids’ faces.  He needs to be off the street."

Federick has over 30 grandchildren and Wednesday he was watching many of them in front of his Pine Hills home.

"Our kids do not play in the neighborhood," Federick said. "They play right here out front. They out here, we out here."

Deputies said the person pointed a gun at the boy and robbed him. Then he ran away. The child wasn't hurt.

They believe the suspect is between 16 and 19 years old, stands about 5'10" and has a medium build.

Hiawassee Elementary School is just a few blocks from where this happened. Neighbors said they are concerned about all the children in the area.

The boy was so terrified that sheriff's office investigators said it took two weeks for the child to work with a sketch artist to come up with the composite released. Now they're just hoping they can bring this suspect to justice.
