The prime suspect in the death of a 16-year-old Orange County girl pleaded not guilty Monday.

Sanel Saint Simon remains behind bars, charged with tampering with evidence at Alexandria Chery’s home and lying to investigators. He has not been charged with her murder.

Detectives said they have quite a few pieces of evidence against Simon in the case, including blood found in his car.

The suspect’s uncle also told investigators he asked him to lie and say he was driving Saint Simon’s car the day Chery was believed to be murdered.

Saint Simon, 43, is locked up on $200,000 bond.
