Deputies believe the murder of Alexandria Chery was planned in advance -- by her mother's boyfriend, according to a newly released report by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Sanel Saint Simon put his plan into motion three days before the brutal murder of the 16-year-old July 28, the report said.

Investigators interviewed Chery's family and friends, who shed some light on a possible motive.

They claimed the teen had been sexually molested by Saint Simon for more than a year, and had recently begun to reject his sexual advances.

Deputies said he put his plan into motion July 25 when he arranged to borrow his uncle's Black Pontiac Grand Prix, and then picked it up two days later with the intention of using it to dump the teenager's body.

Sometime before 7 a.m. Monday, July 28, Chery's mother, Rosalie Joseph, said she drove her boyfriend to his job at Boston Market. She then returned home and saw her daughter for the last time at their apartment around 8 a.m. The girl had stayed home from school.

According to investigators, Saint Simon left work around 9:30 a.m., claiming he had knee pain. He drove his uncle's car to the apartment, where Chery was alone.

Deputies said Saint Simon also lied to them, saying he did not leave work early.

Investigators said Saint Simon tried to clean up the blood in Chery's room, put Chery's body in the Pontiac, and drove to a wooded-area near the Osceola-Polk County line.

Cell phone records show both his cell phone and the teenager's cell phone were in close proximity to each other throughout the day and around 1:24 p.m. Chery's cell phone "pinged" not far from where her body was found a few days later.

Investigators said Saint Simon then returned the car to his cousin, who dropped him off near his workplace around 3 p.m.

His girlfriend picked him up around 5 p.m.. When they returned home, all of Chery's belongings were gone.

Joseph left the room to call the Sheriff's Office. It's during that time investigators said Saint Simon tried to clean up the remaining blood stains using bleach and his underwear.

Chery's mother walked back into the bedroom and noticed the strong bleach smell, and that the carpet was wet.

On Aug. 1, a pest control worker found the teenager's remains off Osceola Polk Line Road. The worker reported smelling a foul odor and seeing vultures flying overhead what he thought was a dead animal.

The new report also shows Medical Examiner Jan Garavaglia, also known as "Dr. G," performed the autopsy and found Chery died from sharp force injuries and blunt head trauma, sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on July 28, which fits with the timeline laid out by investigators.

Despite DNA evidence linking Saint Simon to Chery's murder, he still contends he had nothing to do with her disappearance and murder. He has requested a new attorney, saying his current lawyer is hurting his chances to prove his innocence.
